Jesuit Formation

Preparing for Ministry

Jesuit formation prepares men to become priests and brothers who are well educated, trained in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, and skilled to minister in diverse and ever-changing environments.

Over a formation period of 10 to 15 years, a Jesuit matures in his knowledge of himself and his relationship with God. But it comes at a cost. For the first two years during a man's time at the novitiate, the cost is $25,000 per year. After the novitiate and then over the next 10-12 years, the annual cost increases to $50,000 for each seminarian. Therefore, the entire cost to educate, train and support a Jesuit during his formation approximates $550,000 - $650,000.

We ask that you pray for our men in formation, and prayerfully consider a gift to support the education and training of Jesuits.
